Motherhood is a beautiful dance of welcoming in and letting go.

It’s a constant birthing, letting go, welcoming in.

Heart explosions.

It doesn’t matter how old my children are or how many times before they have moved on before. Because every time feels like the first time.

It’s always this way for me. Every single time.

It’s a very feminine way of being. Welcoming in, letting go. Going with the flow.

I always let them lead. I follow, moving in the direction they are heading.

Stroke their desire, whatever it is or where in the world it brings them.

I have found motherhood to be the most unconditional love I have ever experienced. There is literally nothing that could change my love for them. Nothing.

It’s a beautiful lesson for me in what unconditional love feels like. I constantly learn from this love.

And with love, there is always a letting go. It’s the irony of the whole human experience of love.

I can feel the places inside of me that I could potentially hold on for my own benefit. Use them to stay fulfilled or purposeful. Or to avoid myself, or the space that exists when they leave. I see it all the time with…
