a journey of self love

I climbed into this handmade giant nest the other night at an event I attended in NYC.

I didn’t expect to want to stay in it.

I climbed in gingerly and slowly curled up. It felt very natural — womblike.

It was soft inside — the bottom was lined with hay and a light slathering of feathers. It smelled incredible. Like being deep in the woods. I breathed it in over and over, like I was filling up my soul. As let it in, I could feel my body soften.

This is our natural state — feeling full of love, grounded and joyful.

Being in the nest was a deeply feminine and intuitive experience. I felt vulnerable, powerful and embodied.

It reminds me to always come home to myself.

The Nest Project was created by the brilliant artist and goddess, Debbie Baxter. #thenestproject
